“I find joy in life now not despite being older, but because I am older.”
Driven by this philosophy, my current portfolio investigates how complex human emotions can be articulated purely through form, colour, and texture—bypassing both figurative imagery and language. This collection is comprised of interconnected works celebrating the optimism and fulfillment of life in the UK during my mid-60s. It is an intentional visual manifestation of renewal, designed to leave the viewer feeling elevated, uplifted, and connected to the universal experience of personal renaissance.
Unlike traditional art that copies real objects—like a bowl of fruit or a landscape—abstract art strips away the clutter to communicate pure emotion, energy, and ideas directly to the viewer.
To help everyone connect with the work, every piece features a short, simple guide for visitors who don’t normally look at abstract art.
There is no "right" or "wrong" way to approach the work. Explore the images and read the stories behind the canvases and join me in celebrating the joy of being fully seen.
Biographical Note
The foundations of my creative practice were laid in 1979 with an Art A Level, before I embarked on a substantial career in Design and Technology education. Today, my practice bridges the tactile world of abstract fine art and the observational eye of photography. A recent step into semi-retirement served as a catalyst for a major artistic rebirth, culminating in June 2026 when I graduated with a Distinction in my Foundation Diploma in Fine Art. With two upcoming private exhibitions and a newly rented studio space, my work represents a committed, forward-looking exploration of late-stage creativity.
